All Nine WandaVision Episodes RANKED!

All Nine WandaVision Episodes RANKED!

WandaVision is undoubtedly one of the most unique projects of the MCU, and it is a great show all around! However, some of the episodes are significantly better than others, and I'm sure you'll find that some of my opinions on this list are pretty unusual. Now, without further ado, I, Brighton Nelson of The Reel Ranker, present to you: All Nine WandaVision Episodes RANKED!

9: Episode 5 - "On A Very Special Episode"

REVIEW: WandaVision – Episode 5 "On a Very Special Episode" - Geeks + Gamers

This episode shows the twins growing up throughout the episode, shows VIsion starting to learn the truth, and reveals Quicksilver as played by Evan Peters of X-Men fame. I know many love this episode, but I always have found it rather mediocre—and the Ralph Bohner twist did everything but help its case. I understand why X-Men fans adored this episode, but I wasn't too excited by the whole thing—I preferred Aaron Taylor-Johnson's portrayal. In the end, this was a decent episode, but it was a rather mediocre episode of Marvel television.

8: Episode 7 - "Breaking the Fourth Wall"

WandaVision Episode 7 Review: Breaking the Fourth Wall | Den of Geek

This episode spends its duration split between the real world and Westview and, frankly, other than the fun reveal that "it was Agatha all along", this episode basically was comprised of a monumental amount of meandering and mostly unimportant, random, and unmemorable tomfoolery that sat out in the sun for a year and a day too long. At least the episode had a better twist than Episode 5, making it the better of the two episodes I actively disliked. Let's move on to the good stuff, shall we?

7: Episode 9 - "The Series Finale"

WandaVision' "The Series Finale" Recap: Behold, The Scarlet Witch

This isn't an awful episode, but for such a uniquely distinct TV show, the finale is so, well, typical with its MCU-isms and its sky-beam-esque action. I've got no complaints about this episode—it gets the job done. I'd just have liked a more out-there finale for a show like this (like Loki Season 1's finale).

6: Episode 1 - "Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience"

WandaVision Review: Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience / Don't Touch That Dial (Season 1 Episodes 1 and 2)

As a huge Alfred Hitchcock lover and 50s film enthusiast, I can appreciate a good heaping of "outdated" comedy. I found the whole conflict of this episode hilariously absurd, and I liked that it established the show as a hilarious sitcom without an instant need to be anything more than a funny introduction. I mean, I love myself a proper black-and-white sitcom, and with two of my all-time favorite superheroes at the helm of the show? This episode may be inconsequential, but it's brilliant.

5: Episode 3 - "Now In Color"

Five Thoughts on WandaVision's “Now in Color” – Multiversity Comics

With a retro-color 70s setting, this episode is all about Wanda's pregnancy and the mystery of the mysterious visitor, Geraldine. This episode builds on the suspicious roots planted by the last episode and ends with a bombastic finale of "Geraldine", actually Monica Rambeau, walking out of the hex and revealing the show's true nature. This show has a massive shift in the next episode due to this tremendous and shocking twist, making this a phenomenal episode.

4: Episode 2 - "Don't Touch That Dial"

WandaVision" Don't Touch That Dial (TV Episode 2021) - Connections - IMDb

I know most prefer Episode 3 to this one, but I'd have to disagree. I felt this episode better balanced funny sitcom antics and nuanced mystery elements, making it a perfect blend of the show's first and third episodes. This episode drops just enough hints about Geraldine and the world of color without taking away from the hysterical narrative. Good stuff.

3: Episode 4 - "We Interrupt This Program"

WandaVision Episode 4 Review: We Interrupt This Program | Den of Geek

This is where WandaVision gets super wacky. This episode practically fully takes place in the real world, following the inner workings of S.W.O.R.D. from the perspective of Monica Rambeau, starring the hilarious duo of Jimmy Woo and Dr. Darcy Lewis. This episode shows the reality behind the initial three episodes of the show in an incredible way, making it one of the show's best episodes.

2: Episode 6 - "All-New Halloween Spooktacular"

WandaVision 1x06 Review: “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!” (Ghosts) [Guest Poster: Hannah E.] ~ Just About Write

This episode is unabashedly fun, and it's basically Episode 7, but, you know, worth a frick. With tons of fun Halloween and S.W.O.R.D. action, Quicksilver and Vision drama, and some high-stakes sequences, this is an epic episode all around.

1: Episode 8 - "Previously On"

WandaVision': Explore New Images from Episode 8 | Marvel

This episode alone is better than every other episode of the show combined and, frankly, is better than at least six MCU films. While I may have a slight bias since Wanda is my favorite character, this episode does a more-than-brilliant job of explaining all that's happened in the show, Agatha's backstory, and more. This episode is incredibly emotionally resonant and easily takes the cake for me as the best episode of the show. Naturally, it also has a great mid-credits scene, unlike all the episodes before it. Why this episode ended up being so much better than the rest? TI's absolutely beyond me.
