Digger
After watching the Digger trailer and seeing the review scores, I was undeniably worried. However... the Rotten Tomatoes score? Right next to 50%? With a surprisingly high Letterboxd score? That usually means it has a lot of artistic merit—more of a love-it-or-hate-it film, not just a bad one. So,
Resident Evil
Resident Evil was one of my most anticipated films of the year. A video game adaptation that looked really good in the trailers, plus the iconic Zach Cregger? I couldn't help but be excited. Did this film live up to the hype, or did it undermine its own
By Any Means
As a big fan of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Civil Rights-era dramas, I liked the idea of combining those two elements in a crime flick. I hoped it'd explore themes of rising up as an underdog and anti-establishment resistance. So, as somebody excited for this film, did it
Looney Tunes
I've never been particularly interested in the Looney Tunes franchise. Not that I have any gripes or preconceived notions; I just never saw any of the shows as a kid or beyond, and I have so many things to watch that it never really crossed my mind. But
Buddy
I may not have been a 90s kid or grown up watching Barnie, but this movie still looked awesome, and I couldn't wait to check it out. I was supremely grateful that it did well at the box office! Not only because I always love it when indie
PAW Patrol
Along with classics like Team Umizoomi, Little Einsteins, and Bluey, PAW Patrol has been one of my favorite kids' shows. It's always been one that, even as an adult, I can get enjoyment out of (especially when watching it with my little cousins!). So? I grabbed a
The End of Oak Street
I was intrigued by this film the moment I saw this trailer—and not because this is the fourth movie starring Anne Hathaway that's coming out this year, with more to come. No, I was just shocked that we're actually ending the summer off with not

Even if I disregarded getting to see Tobey and Andrew again, No Way Home would still be my favorite Spider-Man film. While that movie had some flaws, I loved the story of Peter Parker dealing with the downfall of his identity, the heartbreaking tragedy with Aunt May, and one of
With The Invite's high praises and great cast, as well as the fact I'm an A24 simp, I knew that this would be right up my alley. Most A24 films hit on a wholly different level for me, and the premise here was so wacky that
Because watching together is just better.

My local theater finally did another Monday night mystery movie for the first time in months... and I got to see One Night Only as a part of that event! I wasn't super excited about this film because I think hooking up isn't, well, romantic. Not

I'm not quite as Nolan-obsessed as many. Still, I was quite interested to see how he'd try his hand at a war film when he's infamous for having mediocre, hyper-emotionally restrained characters. I personally find war films live or die based on their ability
After hearing great things about this film and seeing it has the most watches and fans on Letterboxd, I finally checked it out with my mom. I know, I'm so late to the party. To be fair, this game came out when I was 7, though, so I
I was so annoyed at myself for convincing myself to see Moana, or for the greater good of this website, and for my incessant need to review every film. But here we are; I watched this useless, unnecessary live-action remake of one of my favorite Disney movies. At least I
While I'm not quite as obsessed with Nolan as most people seem to be, the controversies surrounding this film were practically the stupidest thing on the internet for a few days—and that's a really high bar. The Odyssey is a legendary epic that we all
My favorite subject in school was always history, even though English and its tendencies have prevailed in terms of my career path. I watch nearly every film that comes to my theater, and I always love to see a good historical fiction flick. While Angel Studios and its quick-response-code-and-melodrama modus
This series has always been such a finicky, hit-or-miss set of films for me. The first film is one of the greatest animated films of all time, and while Despicable Me 2 and Minions 2 are seriously solid, the other three are just genuine misfires for me. This movie was
I feel like I was one of the few people who were really hyped for Supergirl. I'm always hoping that we get more female superheroes with realistic personalities that are charming and flawed. It always makes me sad that many perceive female superhero movies as lesser, and that&
I'm a big fan of the Toy Story series, even if I think it's a little overrated in the grand scheme of Pixar's filmography. I'm not nearly as high on the original film as most people, but 2 through 4 are all
I loved the first trailer for this movie, and even got randomly chosen to help with quality assurance for the second trailer (even though what I selected wasn't really what was implemented). Even still, both trailers absolutely hooked me, even as someone who's not nearly as
